Zheng Xiaochen
Assistant Professor

Dr. Zheng Xiaochen serves as an Assistant Professor at Southern University of Science and Technology, School of Automation and Intelligent Manufacturing. He obtained his PhD degree from Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain) in 2019. In 2018 spring semester, he joined in the Centre for Business Data Analytics (cbsBDA) , Copenhagen Business School as a visiting scholar. From 2019 to 2022, he was a Postdoc Scientist at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) in the ICT for Sustainable Manufacturing (ICT4SM) group. His research interests include Intelligent manufacturing, Digital Twin and Cognitive Digital Twin, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Semantic modelling and Ontology Engineering. He has published more than 40 research papers including more than 20 SCI journal papers. He has participated several flagship EU H2020 research projects in manufacturing domain including QU4LITY (H2020 825030), lBOOST 4.0 (EU H2020 780732), Z-BRE4K (H2020 768869), OntoCommons (H2020 958371), among others. He served as the Chair of Product Service System working group (IOF-PSS-WG) in the Industrial Ontologies Foundry (IOF), and member of Systems Engineering (IOF-SE-WG) and Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM-WG) working groups. He is also an active member of the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CEN-CENELEC/WS ZDMTerm).
