On December 13, the fifth awarding ceremony of 2020 Fudan-Zhongzhi Science Award?and Fudan Science and Innovation Forum was held in Shanghai.
The 2020 Fudan-Zhongzhi Science Award was?presented to three scientists for their extraordinary contributions to research in the field of topological geometry.?SUSTech President Qikun XUE won the Award.
The Committee of the Fudan-Zhongzhi Science Award said that President XUE was conferred the award for?his experimental observation?of quantum anomalous Hall Effect, which will promote the development of new generation energy-efficient?transistors and electronic devices, and even accelerate the process of information technology revolution.
Samuel Chao Chung Ting, Chairman of the Committee of the Fudan-Zhongzhi Science Award, and Nobel Prize Laureate?in physics, announced the winner list and delivered a?keynote?speech.?
Sir Michael V. Berry, a professor of physics?from University of Bristol, and?Charles L. Kane, a professor of physics?from University of Pennsylvania, jointly shared the Award this year. ?
The Fudan-Zhongzhi Science Award was jointly founded by Fudan University and Zhongzhi Enterprise Group in 2015 to recognize scientists who have made fundamental and groundbreaking achievements in the fields of physics, mathematics, and biomedicine.
The Award aims to promote global scientific research and provide an international platform for research communication, discussion and sharing.
